Lauren Thompson Andrews
Certified Scrum Master & Conflict Resolution Specialist
Seasoned Communicator and Change Maker
My Journey

My career trajectory has closely followed my educational background. I began as a medical assistant, acquiring the necessary certifications to lay the foundation for my professional journey. Over time, my innate passion for helping others became evident through my effective communication skills. In my twenties, while pursuing an FCC License, I simultaneously studied radio broadcasting and journalism at The Broadcast Institute of Maryland. This educational investment paved the way for a fulfilling career spanning over two decades in the field.
Life's journey led me through new chapters, including marriage and parenthood. During this time, I founded a small Life and Health insurance-focused benefits firm initially to support my family and later extending that assistance to others. As my responsibilities shifted, my radio career transitioned to part-time, allowing me to pursue higher education. I earned a degree in Public Health Administration from Sojourner College while expanding my firm to include legal insurance services.
Throughout this period, I honed my conflict resolution skills, mastering mediation, negotiation, and arbitration techniques. Seeking further growth, I pursued postgraduate studies at The University of Baltimore. It was during this educational journey that I recognized the critical need for a comprehensive approach to conflict resolution within the legal engagement process. This realization inspired me to develop a revolutionary conflict resolution system with Agile methodologies.
As a Certified Scrum Master, I implemented this innovative approach to deliver value, results, and productive outcomes in both my benefit cases and projects. My body of work reflects my unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth, driven by the dedication to make meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Journey Highlights

It was a complete honor to have entered the health field as a trusted Echocardiographer team member alongside the then-world-renowned Cardiologist, Dr. Lee, at the University of Maryland Hospital. Later, in my younger years, I transitioned into the realm of broadcasting and communication, working alongside the legendary Ms. Dorothy Brunson. Collaborating with her and learning her strategies as she built the legendary urban radio station WEBB-AM (formerly James Brown Radio station) was a priceless experience. Subsequently, I was hired by another trailblazer, Ms. Cathy Hughes. I vividly remember the night when Alfred Liggins, with an eagle eye, observed as I became the first broadcaster to open the mic and introduce the now-iconic Magic 95.9 FM in Baltimore, Maryland.

Notable Landmarks Along the Way:
WEAA-FM /Morgan State University:
Selected by Congressman Kweisi Mfume, I joined a small group tasked with reviving a struggling station. Today, it stands stronger than ever. In the nation's capital, I hosted a two-way talk show on Major 102.3 with Mayor Anthony Williams, bringing the community both important and positive information.
Founded My Own Benefits Firm:
While raising children, I transitioned to radio part-time and started my own benefits firm. There, I helped families protect themselves and their assets. Through my podcast, I shared asset protection tips for community awareness.
-
Notably, following an experience of corruption in court during divorce proceedings, I expanded my services to include legal insurance and honed my focus on promoting legal engagement, education, and protection through agile justice-centered methodology.
-
Continuing my education with various certifications, one of the most notable being a Certified Scrum Master, I utilize this framework along with my education in conflict resolution, law, and strategic thinking. Through this, I have been impactful in empowering countless individuals to navigate conflicts and win legal battles with my "21st-century" justice resolution system.
